Feels like it's got to be Sumrall

Not going to be Saban, I really don't think Lane leaves Oxford, Lanning has shut the door and I can't see Freeman leaving for any job other than Ohio State. So take all them off the table. I'm not sure that any of the guys are their current alma mater will either want to leave or are worth it. That leaves Heupel, Brady, Drink, Sheppard and Sumrall...plus lots of other names maybe off the radar. I'd be good with Heupel too, but ultimately I think LSU isn't gonna let Sumrall leave Louisiana and he'll be our next head coach. I think it will be a great hire as well! Tell me I'm wrong

Your wrong. Landry probably won’t allow that one.

It makes a lot of sense financially. That’s the direction we are heading in.

Remove Brady. No chance he comes back to college football.

It's Drink, unfortunately.

I could see Frank. That makes the most sense financially

Wouldn't Landry rather keep him in state? If we don't get him it'll be Auburn

If Landry steals a coach from Tulane, he will lose votes in New Orleans

Politics and optics my guy. Don’t steal from in stste schools. Dumb but it’s the way the world works in Cajun land

If we don't "steal" him Auburn or somebody else will. May as well keep him in the state.

I don’t want Frank but if this is what we are doing it makes the most sense. We are not serious about hiring a coach. Frank is cheap and easy. He is literally right down the hallway. lol

Logically yes you would be right, realistically when has Louisiana politics ever been logical

Rousse said in his acceptance speech he wants Athletics to be the forefront of the university. That doesn't sound like a guy ready to hatchet the budget.

He isn’t serious. His first hire indicates he wants easy and cheap. I’ll acknowledge we might end up with a Sumrall type hire. I can’t see us being serious with this AD hire. We could have just kept Scott, lol. Scott was literally more qualified than Verge. Oh well. It’s done now. No reason to be upset. Reset my expectations to very low

Verge was appointed to try and go get Freeman.

Would be awesome if he did, but Freeman is an Ohio St alum and he's going to wait for that job. Not worth it for him to bridge the gap at LSU... Even though that would be sick for us
