Haven’t had a chance to really look at it. Just quit spinning right when I was finishing up last week. Common causes to look for?

Either a motor issue, connection issue in the shaft from the motor to the head, or the stringer head.
Without any info, would start with the stringer head to see if there is a build up of organic material built up between the stringer head and the shaft once you rule that out, I would make sure that the stringer head is not stripped. Personally never seen the shaft strip out, so would look at the power end next.
Good time of year to bring it in and let someone go through it if you're not comfortable trying to fix it.

Does it bog down when you give it gas, or does it rev up freely? That will tell you where the problem is.

I had mine do this last year. Puzzled me for a bit….then I finally took the head completely off and found a wad of monofilament fishing line had wound tightly around the shaft under the head that the string spool mounts on.

Really helps to post the make/model first. Could be anything from the clutch to a drive shaft/cable issue to a broken gear to a bad electrical connection....

I hereby propose that anyone who starts a " fix it" thread and fails to update the audience gets a permanent banning, ha.
