When a program like this has gone this far off course, you have to nuke it and start over. You can’t bandaid it.

They say there’s 1.5 million just in Ga that received snap, I’d be willing to bet that 1.3 million are more than able to get off the couch and go to work. All this laying on couch watching soap operas and eating bon bons needs to stop

What does this have to do with anything?

You do realize that most SNAP recipients are employed right?

Everything. If your number 1 priority is feeding your family you’d be surprised what you could do without.

You need a phone in today's society. And I'd argue that most people need a smart phone in today's society.

The SNAP/EBT 'issue' is what will force the Dems to fold and open the GOV. Probably next week or the week after. A lot of pressure will be forthcoming soon.
That being said, I agree, this crap system needs to be gutted and changed. A freaking card folks have that they can buy whatever? Eff that, beans, rice, bacon, milk powder, cheese, veggies, and some fruit -- - for those that qualify.
Bottom line, this crap needs to stop.

As I've said, if there is one group that republicans hate, it's the working poor.

I do not think you or your ilk understand the word 'working''. And your and your ilk's definition of 'hate'? Hate started from LBJ and the Dems back in the 1960's to establish a GOV dependent segment in change for continued votes. The same thing is happening now with illegals. But you and your ilk wish to perpetuate this and hold legal folks down.

Being employed = working

I’m not necessarily against a publically funded safety net, but I think you are way too flippant about the existence of welfare cliffs and moral hazards within the system.
It’s not just republicans that recognized the issue.
There’s a reason the 80s and 90s saw both parties embrace reform.
Social workers and policy makers were given on-the-ground reports and data that there was a dependent underclass choosing the hammock over employment, because of the shoddy way benefits were constructed, which basically caused 200% marginal tax rates. Not good
