I know a guy that had one. It was a pain in the arse. Could have just been the type. He was better off to buy me some beers and fuel. He rented a few times.

Guy at the lease got one.
He hit a stump and tore it up within 15 minutes.
He rents now when he needs.
You could rent/borrow for years for the price of one.

Know 2 fellas at lease that use them and they said as long as grass isn’t 5’ tall it’ll do the job. Neither own a tractor and only use the pull behind on their 4wheeler.
I almost bought one for my son’s 4wheeler but I have a tractor.

How did he hit a stump pulling it behind the SxS? Did he not run over the stump?
Biggest issue I see here is it’s thick you gotta go over it first and beat up your SxS

I have a swisher 44 rough cut. It works OK, but it ain't a rotary cutter like my old tractor had.
I have gotten way too good at changing the belt because they break if you look at wood over 1.5". They are tough to maneuver in tight areas, unlike a 3 point tractor bushhog.
The good part is they are a cheap option of you already have an atv and they do get the job done if you respect their limits.
Im getting a tractor for next season and will sell mine.

I used one that a friend gave me (he didn't need it anymore), and I used it for a few years until I bought a Kubota tractor and bush hog. It did an "ok" job when we needed it. It was hard to maneuver, as others mentioned.

So it wasn't just me.....

If you can find an old Bush Hog GT48 they were legit. We didn’t sell just a ton of them because they were so expensive, but never had to work on one either. They’ve since been discontinued but still use same parts as some of the 4 ft mowers. Honda engine so no spare parts issue. They were by far the best pull behind mower made.
Now, FINDING one might be like a needle in a haystack.
