Why are yall so worried about the Governor?

The contract is going to be restructured, such that TAF underwrites the liability in lieu of the state, which will negate the Governor’s influence, except by proxy via his BOS appointees. The candidates’ agents already know this.

Because he’s embarrassing the state and university by acting like a jackass. And possibly along it more difficult for LSU to hire a HC and AD.

Because he is spewing non-sense on national sports programs that he knows isn’t accurate, making an arse of himself and the university, and is forcing his wishes on the BOS.
It was painfully obvious during yesterday’s presser that the BOS was lying through their teeth about it being a “mutual decision”. Maybe mutual if they both agree there’s no chance the governor lets him stay on staff.
Also, Landry knows good and damn well that the tax payers aren’t going to pay a cent of that buyout.
He’s abusing his power to play political games.

Embarrassing - 100% agreed. However, when it comes to the business deal, the agents are going to focus on the exclusion of the Governor’s influence and the security of the guarantees. The coach and agents will look beyond all this mess by next week.

This week was a PR shitstorm to put it lightly, but hopefully things calm down from here. I think people were caught off guard by all the press headlines that Landry/BOS/Woodward caused.

He’s a panican and very SMALL minded (and physically)
He made dumbass comments publically that fed the media, - many of which are biased for competing teams like UCLA, and Florida - and the agents to make us look like backward chaos.
He also ran off one of the most well respected AD’s who is a perfect fit for our job because of some petty differences from years ago…!

1) one group is ate up with any republican politician, especially tied to trump, and tbh can’t think with an ounce of rationality

The agents might. But if I’m a coach and I’m choosing between two schools that are on very similar levels and offering similar levels of money, I’m probably choosing the school that doesn’t have a governor that publicly bashing employees and actively running off AD’s.
