Home office is located in Brentwood, Tenn...there is an Alabama Grad that is pretty high on the ladder...

A gump alum started it. I'm not saying that it is or is not equitable in rankings, but a gump alum did start the website.

The guy who started Rivals grew up in Alabama as a gump, but he attended Belmont College in Tennessee on a basketball scholarship. The guy is still a die hard Bammer fan however.

if you base it strictly off of Rivals rankings, Bama did have the best class.
if you base it off ESPN, we did.
but who cares

Bobby Burton's National Recruiting Advisor mag was bought out by Rivals, inc in 1999.
They started up the internet website in 2001. They put Burton in charge of finding the scouts and evalualting the players.
Bobby Burton is a huge Texas homer. If anything, Rivals should have a Longhorn bias, which has been evident at times in the past.

The CEO of Rivals.com is Shannon Terry. Rivals main henchman, Bobby Burton works directly for Shannon Terry who also coincidentally created the first "Rivals.com Franchise" - Bamaonline. He is a huge Bama Booster who grew up in Woodville, AL. The Rivals CEO - Shannon Terry is occasionally in radio personality Paul Finebaum's studio, as is Alabama's Head Coach.

Actually, ESPN only has LSU ahead of Bama because they have yet to switch JJ to UT. They still have him counted towards LSU. Once ESPN straightens that out (if they do)...then Bama will have the consensus #1 class in the SEC in all three major sites. But like you said, when two great classes are this close in quality and size, you're really splitting hairs. The talent and depth has been leveled, now it will come down to coaching most years. I like who we have in our corner.....
