LSU is playing very well. The SEC is not as awful as its made out to be. Now that every conference is getting deeper into league play, you'll start to see more and more teams in the 'power confereces' that had multiple teams see its ranked teams start to dwindle. Look at the Big East for instance with Georgetown and Notre Dame.

The SEC is DOWN this year, but LSU is playing well.

I think the SEC is bad, but I really think that LSU is very good. Not deep and we will face some matchup problems, like Varnado on Wednesday, but we're good. We defend very well. All five starters have the ability to make an outside shot. Taz made two three's today. Even Chris Johnson can stretch the defense out when he's on like in the Arkansas game. Marcus Thorton can score on anyone and he can go inside or outside no problem.

And our coaching has been great. We aren't just beating teams, we are dominating them.

the SEC is down, but LSU has a margin of victory in conference of over 10 pts so I think it's a little of both. LSU will more than likely quietly win 25+ games this year

LSU is playing well, but if they were in a more competitive conference they would probably be a bubble team or low seed come tourney time. Think this team could get to the second possibly third round of the tourney, but its really hard to tell playing against pretty poor competition. SEC is down this year, badly.

I think we're similar to Bama in football this year.

The SEC has some athletes and talent, (See: Arkansas and Tennessee wins out of conference.) but LSU is the only team in the SEC that is able to play solid basketball consistently. We are far and away the most prepared and well coached team in the SEC this year.

We are blessed to have TJ as our HC instead of the junior college HC at the helm.

I can't remember us ever having four upper-classmen in the starting lineup. Seniors have been a rare commodity the past few years.

Both. Mainly, the SEC is really down.

Agreed. We are above average, not great. That said, we continue to play better and better as a team. At this rate, I would not be surprised to see this team win a game or 2 in the tourney.

SEC maybe bad... so go look at margin of victory against these so called bad teams and u can see LSU has handled them pretty good. Sign of a good team

We Suck!

Seriously, we will not know until we play out of conference. Oh we have a playoff in college basketball...what a great concept.

I believe our lack of depth will kill us in the tournament. It is March Madness...so anything can happen.

SEC is pretty down this year, obviously.

But LSU has veteran guards who know how to play together, which is a good formula for playing in March.

Definitely both. Not to take away from what Trent and company have put together this year, but the SEC is down for sure.
