Any ServiceNow devs or architects out there? Seeing who may have experience standing up AES and if it actually brought value to your organization.

So far, it just seems like an expensive playground for stupid people to go play developer without actually knowing SDLC, let alone how to actually build items and flows in the app.

Not sure if this is the best board for this, pls feel free to move if it’s not

No first hand experience outside of their scoped applications, but can give you a list of fortune 500 companies I interact with daily who have recognized immense value from it.

AGILE. Never go full AGILE. (Just watched Tropic Thunder with my kid this weekend.)

Almost nobody documents or plans stuff that I've seen in SNoW for over a decade. My current client has spent five weeks trying to figure out whether they want to e-bond with a new MSS or not, nobody in that crew is going to develop anything useful, AES or not. I don't develop jack squat, but based on what I saw AES supposedly does, I would agree with your assessment.

Yea I figured a larger cap would put forth the capital to have it set up appropriately. My company loves to cut corners and “do more with less!” so it makes sense this has been an utter failure.

I am full agile lol. But the documentation piece is ridiculously obvious…besides to “citizen developers”. My team works in ITSM and suddenly every app engine issue is now my problem and every troubleshoot is a blind, uphill battle.

Fortune 250 here and im not sure what we would do without it..

We keep a SNOW team on retainer, but sending your own people to learn the basics gives us at least a "service desk" of internals who can get us to the right place...

Everyone I hear from says ServiceNow is like another Salesforce. That is you have to spend an enormous amount of money to maybe get it where you want it.

I’ve managed our platform for about a year and half. I can already tell they are shifting their sales strategy to large caps and leaving small and mid caps in the dust. Their dumb arse “guided impact” SKU they’re implementing for all clients is great way to pull an extra 5-10% for revenue but it’s also a great way to drive business away.

Not to mention their senior sales people are assholes, in my experience thus far. It actively makes me not want to do business with them
