Did Kelly really only have 5 wins with 11 losses against ranked opponents?

That's what I come up with:

2022 (2-2) - Lost to #8 Tennessee, Beat #7 Ole Miss, Beat #6 Alabama, Lost to #1 Georgia

2023 (1-3) - Lost to #8 Florida St., Lost to #20 Ole Miss, Beat #21 Missouri, Lost to #8 Alabama

2024 (1-3) - Lost to #23 USC, Beat #9 Ole Miss, Lost to #14 Texas A&M, Lost to #11 Alabama

2025 (1-3) - Beat #4 Clemson, Lost to #13 Ole Miss, Lost to #17 Vanderbilt, Lost to #3 Texas A&M

Not good enough at LSU - period.

Bobby Hebert said he would have to beat 16 of the next 19 ranked opponents to catch up with...

Ed Orgeron.

Broken down:

Top 1 to 5 - 1 win and 2 losses

Top 6 to 10 - 3 wins and 4 losses

Top 11 to 25 - 1 win and 5 losses (this is the baffling stat)

4-6 against the Top 10 while not great is not terrible, but 1-5 against the teams you have to beat to win enough games to make the playoffs is terrible.
