After reading the Lance Guidry interview and reading others about how this kid really looked down in the dumps after he announced, I feel sorry that he has such a piece of shite as a father. I couldn't imagine ever doing that to my son. The kid wanted to do the right thing and de-commit but that scumbag of a father told him not to. That statement said it all to me, he wanted to use his own son as a pawn. WOW, I bet he won't winner any father of the year awards. Seriously, Janzen I wish you the best in your college career and I for one being a HS coach and father would never have done that to my son because I would never dream of living vicariously through my son. Lance Guidry I think it is time for you to grow a set of nuts and come clean because no HS coach or parent will ever believe a word you say.

Part of the strategy is to keep LSU thinking they have JJ, so they won't push so hard to come back after him
If he decommitted, it would be an all out blitz for Miles to go after him, probably didn't want to deal with the pressure and guilt
I don't like it at all, sleezy recruiting, but it's real... and that is in part why they ask kids not to say anything after they changed their minds..

Just look at the Benton recruiting. It works both ways

I'll repost something I found on Rivals last night:
"Mike, I am surprised you forgot the Phelon Jones recruitment and did not mention it to him. When Phelon committed to FL initially his Father called the HCs at the other schools recruiting Phelon and ask them not to contact him again. Miles wished him well and the LSU coaches did not contact him again. LSU wanted Phelon about as much as they wanted JJ but they left him alone at his father's request.
Months later Phelon decided he did not want to go to FL he formally decommitted and his father called Les Miles up and ask him if LSU wanted to recruit him and if LSU had a scholarship available. Miles offered him on the spot. The father told Miles LSU was the only school he called because Miles and LSU were the only ones who had honorred his request to not continue to recruit him. "
