I never watched the show. Was her character in a wheelchair or was this a recent development?

Yes a male fireman stripper named Blue, aka captain smoke show gives her a lap dance on broadway. Come to find out, Blue is the long lost love child of Chris O’Donnell’s character and decides he wants to join the force after saving a runaway bachelorette pedal tavern crash with a tourniquet.

Actually had to go back and watch to see who she was on the show.
The acting on this show is SO bad. I thought Chris O'Donnell was good in NCIS LA but, I don't think he can carry this show.
Trying to force fit Nashville celebs into the show. Brad Paisley's wife, Leann Rimes are awful.
