If I’m SW I go into BK office and open dialogue for a contract amendment to get some fan goodwill and also aid him in perhaps reaching his goals here at LSU. Agree to increase NIL spending in exchange for going from 90 to 65% of remaining amount on contract as a buyout. Or change to a one lump 20 mill amount within 60 d of termination (which with wise investment can become 53 mill with the quickness). I know he has NO reason to do that BUT the NIL boost would provide incentive. He had NO reason to give 10% of his salary last year to seed NIL or give a gift to the academic side of the university since he has been here (at least I think I recall he and his wife doing that) BUT he did have the incentive to do so in both cases. Otherwise it’s have the fans disgruntled, deal with potential decreased program support, and “get canned next year and walk to the mailbox each month till you are almost 70 long as you knees hold out to get what the contract says now.

Just thinking outside the box and not the repeating many threads of “can’t do it, not enough money” can’t afford to to fire him etc.

And BK then laughs Woody out of his office.

TBF if your boss had a 53 million obligation on you… would you not take it?

Woody genuinely screwed himself with these stupid long contracts. No wonder why he fled A&M after 1 season w/Jimbo

Brian Kelly’s response and any other normal individual would say “frick you Pay me”

Nobody made you sign that contract, Scott

And my response would be “ok, your salary pool for asst hires on offensive side will only be x amount and NIL pool this amount. If next year is jot a playoff run, you’re done and you get the rest monthly until you are 69. And about that Greg Brooks thing…..

Brian Kelly wasn’t sued or liable for having a student fall to his death at Notre Dame; you don’t he has some kind of insurance or clause stating he’s not liable for injured players in competitive SEC football? Get a clue

I guess you think that Nussmeier can sue Brian Kelly also for letting him play with injured ribs in a bum ankle? I mean nuss lost millions since the beginning of the season right. If Kelly would’ve told him to go pro last year if he would’ve had better draft than he does now right. Same thinking bud

I didn’t realize you can get a brain tumor from playing football. I think you need to look at what is being alleged. If you think it’s apples to apples, then don’t know what to tell you BUD.

Would you give up 10% of your salary this year to your Boss to help the “program”? I venture to say not but that’s what BK did last year. Why would he do that?

I have a better one: Find something to fire him for cause with so he has no say in it.

No, but that was a voluntary move by him that he felt would help further his career. This post is about a decision that would solely be made so he could be fired sooner.

Prospective hires will hold that against you. You can't just "find something" and expect to land a guy with a stack of offers.

No, it would help with NIL that would help him attain his goal and perhaps gain fan goodwill. It might lead to him being fired sooner BUT also gets him paid sooner with a lump sum option. No offset with the lump sum. Or get paid over 60 months AND be offset with any future earnings.

Cutting his guaranteed buyout percentage doesn’t help with NIL at all. If he just wanted to help NIL he would do what he did last year, not give away $15ish million that’s he’s owed.

No shite. That’s the entire point of that agreement.
