Next college team offering any coach a 10 year is stupid.

I agree. That's why I proposed a hybrid contract yesterday. No more than 5 years, heavily front loaded for (say) $10 million in years 1 & 2. But starting in year 3, drop the base to $6 million, with huge incentives that could boost the total to $13 million with a national championship. (These figures are speculative, off the top of my head)

With every top ten finish and/or playoff appearance, the contract rolls over to a new 5 year deal, with the base remaining at $6 million.

I may be ahead of the times, but something HAS to give. Guaranteed 10 year contracts CANT last. The downside, not just for us, is simply too expensive.

And our AD did it twice. One 75 and another 100 . Why aren’t more people championing for his dismissal. This man should not have a job

It was already stupid both times Woodward did it.

Your issue is getting prominent coaches to agree. The only way to get certain Coaches was to get those 10 year contracts. That is just the nature of College Football these days. Kalen Deboer got a 8 year contract.

Thats the problem. Unless you hire an up and coming Coach or a less qualified Coach in order to have leverage you're not going to be able to offer Coaches a 6 year contract and expect them to accept the deal.
