She wants to print ancestry material and need something that's not hard to set up WiFi with. Under 200 but can spend more if it's worth it

If all she wants to do is print in black in white, this Brother laser printer was extremely easy for me to set up and connect to my wi fi. The laser cartridge was very easy to replace. I really like it. Wal Mart

Brother INKvestment

Mom has one, sips ink and ink doesn't dry out and clog if you dont print a lot. Scanner is a bonus.

Brother laser B & W printers are rock solid. And the cartridges last 4 ever.

Thanks a lot. Guess I will make a trip to best buy. Looked on Amazon but wasn't thrilled with the ratings.

Came here to say brother and it’s already recommend, we have several of them, easy WiFi link, works with all devices, the toner lasts seemingly forever.

I have a Brother laser printer and it’s always been glitchy (WiFi drops, power button doesn’t respond). I would have to unplug it to get it to work. I just replaced the toner and updated it, and it seems to be better. So if she does buy one, make sure she keeps it updated.

Do NOT update the firmware on the printer. Brother recently used firmware to essentially brick third party toner and ink cartridges.

Your errors are likely due to Windows firewall configurations that happen with major updates (usually twice a year.

I've owned Brother laser printers for almost 20 years. My current one I've had since 2022, and I'm just now going to have to replace the toner.
