Baker is Kelly's lifeline as of right now. He's going to be fricked when he takes a head coaching job elsewhere. Baker has been like Aranda and is great for our program.

It really would be awesome if Baker was HCIW.
LSU would be wise to consider it at least and tell Baker you get to learn all the organizational components to HC from BK and then if BK retires in 2-4 years you get a big SEC job before turning 40?
That’s attractive no matter how you skin it.
And baker is the guy who can give you a youthful, Lanning style program after BK.

I’m not sure anybody’s offering him a 2-3x pay raise. It just depends on what he wants to do. I’m not sure he’s getting a good P4 gig yet. He could probably get one that’s a perennial loser and get fired in the next 3-4 years like most coaches at whatever that particular program would be.
I’m sure he and Kelly have talked about it, and he has a few schools he has his eye on. One likely being Tulane, so if that comes open, I could definitely see him taking that. Not sure they pony up 6-9 million, which would be 2-3 times what he’ll likely be making here after he gets his inevitable raise/extension after this year’s performance. But I don’t think they’d have to offer that. If it’s the job he wants, he’ll probably take it for around what he’d be getting here, and then get the big bag at his next stop if he’s successful there.

He’s getting paid 2.5M/yr here.
If he’s getting offered a HC job, he’s definitely getting 5-7.5M/yr
