I'm looking for someone in BR to install a vent hood and some other misc. small projects. Any recommendations for someone that is reasonably priced?

Good luck finding one any less than $30/hr.

$30 an hour? I start at $50 an hour. Insurance and licensing fees are about 3 grand.

To install a vent hood, ductwork and electrical is involved so that starts getting closer to $100 an hour and is a higher end handyman or an electrician.

You're about a decade or more behind in pricing labor.

$30/hr gets you a an unlicensed fly by night guy that may or may not even show up, and you'll be left with an approximately 0% chance they will even think of coming back if something fricks up or goes wrong.
