The Nets have waive Dariq Whitehead a 6'7" wing player, who is still very young. At one point he was very highly rated, but has not lived up to his billing.
Do you think we should take a chance on him?

I'm more interested in their next round of cuts. I hear Jalen Wilson and Tyrese Martin will battle it out for a spot. I like those two better than Whitehead as NBA players.

5.7 Pts, 1.4 Reb, 0.6 Ast, 40.6 FG% Yea that’s not gonna move the needle much

The issues for me are the injury prone history even when after he got to the league and the injuries that zapped whatever athleticism he had in highschool and college. I don't really care about the stats as much as the inability to stay on the floor.
For a 15th guy, I rather a role player who can do a little bit of everything and can be slotted into multiple roles without much effort.
We have a lot of young guys already that we need to focus on with Fears, Queen and even Peavy.... Along with Missi and Karlo to an extent. We need guys who already know how to play rather than more guys who needs to learn how to play.

Who?
One and done from Duke. He can shoot the 3 but nothing else, he won’t be in the league next season.

Could be another Brandon Boston. His injury his rookie year really slowed his progression. Never could recover. Foot fracture that required two surgeries at Duke and season ending shin surgery his rookie year. Not good.
He might get an opportunity on a tanking team

I would say the Oklahoma Thunder GM is a pretty good judge of talent, guess what, the Thunder has signed Whitehead to a contact

It's an exhibition 10 contract. Basically going to be a g league guy for them.

Well maybe Whitehead will pop for them.

Probably for the best. There’s zero chance the pelicans coaching staff get the best out of him even if he was on the roster.
