Lets see if we can at least get this one pinned at the bottom instead of anchored.

I’m already preparing myself for new Braves manager Walt Weiss.

Unfortunately, probably, especially considering they are positioning this Snitker move like it was his decision to leave, which I'm not sure is actually the case, but who knows.

The problem is that I have no idea who the good managerial prospects are.

People keep saying DeRosa, but idk why. Yeah, former Brave from Georgia, but to this point, his managerial resume is that he lost to Japan in the WBC.

Weiss would be a disaster IMO but I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the move

I have buddies close to the Braves. It was Snit's decision, and word was last week that he was going to come back.

They have no clue who it will be, but they are hoping for Derosa. I want someone fresher, maybe Ross. Weiss would be a disaster.

So what all do we think needs to be done roster-wise? Here's my personal opinion on what they need to do this winter:

1. Add a starting outfielder who can play CF if needed. In an ideal world, this guy plays every day and allows Ronald and Profar to slide to DH a few times per week. He would also be insurance in case Michael Harris becomes unplayable with the bat again. Wonder if Buxton considers waiving his no trade now that Minnesota is blowing it up?

2. Add two starting pitchers, with at least one of them being an upper tier guy. Thinking this gets addressed in free agency. Maybe Ranger Suarez?

3. If HS Kim declines his player option, make sure he gets resigned.

4. Upgrade the bench. I can't watch Luke Williams anymore.

5. Add a reliever. If Reynaldo Lopez moves to the pen, this doesn't necessarily need to be a late inning guy, but I'd like it to be. Wouldn't hate bringing Iggy back.

I'm guessing there is money to make one big free agent signing and I'm guessing AA swings one big trade, with Waldrep being the centerpiece.

I'll believe it when I see it.

Trade Murphy for a bag of chips.

Get rid of Iglesias

Find a SS.

Find another outfielder.

Two starting pitchers.

I think this was the same ask I had last year, and they did nothing.

I'm curious if they will pick up Ozzie's option.

He's been not great lately, but it would be a bummer if his last moment in a Braves uniform is an injury.

Hard to argue against it considering what we’re paying him.

I agree with everything except this:

I would hate to see him go.

As for Snit's successor, Ross is my #1. Eddie Perez is my dark horse. I don't want him but I think Derosa is the front-runner.

Well, if he is going to make a big trade, the other team is going to ask for something of value in return. I'm assuming Baldwin is off the table, so Waldrep is probably the next most valuable trade asset. I'd move him in a heartbeat for a frontline starter or a starting OF with some pop in his bat.

I just have no reason to believe he is going to make a "big" trade because we don't really have the assets to pull it off due to him failing to replenish the farm after we traded/graduated a bunch of dudes in 2022-2023.

To be fair, a bench coach is available for a managerial job 99.9% of the time.

Gibbons doesn't excite me.

He doesn't excite me either but he was the Jays manager when AA was in Toronto and can probably be had for cheap. It seems like an AA kind of move.

I've been clear that I want David Ross or Eddie Perez, as far as realistic candidates go.

Every candidate is going to have negatives. That's why they're available and not locked into a team right now.
