Hatch transferred to Harvard

Garrett and Bailey will red shirt.

It will be Jefferson, Lee, and Shepard.

Okay, I was excited about this thread's potential, but I now realize that it was pointless. You, however, have pointed out that the future looks reasonable and bright.

I agree but if Lee struggles, don't be surprised if Shep got the keys to they whole show assuming he is all that and a ba of chips... Again, this plays on JJ getting hurt.

80% Jefferson
20% Shepard

No one else sees snaps unless a huge blowout occurs and then Lee gets 2%.

IMO I dont think Shep EVER is full time QB at LSU

I think its JJ's for a while then Garrets, Shep ends up being Percy Harvinish for us.....

not a knock on Shep, I just dont think he's a true qb..... and DEF not on next level (nfl) so i think he Happily turns into the ATH role

huge blowout will happen several times.... Lee will get plenty of mop up snaps.....

I Think right now the TRUE QB depth Chrt is JJ, Lee, Shep

but the Depth chart for snaps from center are JJ, Shep, Lee

To be honest I don't know why but I feel like Lee will improve A LOT over the spring and will compete for the starting job. I think JJ will probably win it, but I think they will both get a lot of time in the first couple of games.

I hope he does, as well as JJ..... but I think even if they are equal, that JJ shouldnt share snaps with Lee, JJ is still learning as well and should get all snaps with exception of Sheps runs, and Lee mop up duty. We need 1 true QB, and shep as change of pace......

As I see this, I think we may get a long shot surprise from Lee. I think most of what we saw last year was not from lack of ability, but from poor decisions and an overall fear of playing at the next level. When Lee settled down, he looked unreal; when he got shook up, he looked worse than anything we've ever seen.

Rest assured, I have enough confidence in Miles to NOT put Lee in unless he is ABSOLUTELY sure he can handle it. However, I think last year we saw a Lee that clearly was not ready, but was forced to go in after the 1st and 2nd string were no longer options.

Next year will be a whole different ball game. I still think JJ is our man until proven otherwise, but I think a year off will give Lee some much needed time to grow and learn. Give him some chances to practice against our new secondary, and he will learn really quick. Trial by fire. By then, he'll be ready for the SEC. If you can play against our D, you can play with anyone.

I think we'll be a much different team at QB next year. It'll be a joy to watch.

He can run like no other QB I have ever seen (maybe Micael Vick), but the guy has a lot of room for improvement with the passings game.

Wow I am encouraged to see so many level headed assessments of our qp situation, especially concerning Lee.

I agree with most everything posted. Lee is the real wild card in the mix. His problems last year were not that he doesn't have ability he just had problems between the ears. Not a knock on him he was thrown in before the coaches wanted him to play due to circomstance ie RP and then Hatch getting hurt.

And with RS getting all the press this year Garrett has been overlooked. It is quite possible he will be running the show in two or three years.
