10 year anniversary trip in Feb 2026. We have a destination wedding a few months later without the kids, so we're more than likely going to bring the kids along.

Not really limiting the destination. What should we do? Targeting 7 days.
We honeymooned in Maui, so I was thinking Kauai. But we've also never done a carribean all-inclusive as a family. Kids are 8 & 6.

Open to suggestions!

Coming up as in what time of year? This could mean next month or next year?

Also your location would help and how long you want to go? Hawaii is likely Europe and I usually recommend at least a week. Can do the Caribbean for a long weekend

We did our first Disney cruise last year on the treasure, 7 nights. It was amazing. Already booked again on the Destiny for another 7 nights in June. It is really a luxury low stress vacation, was surprised how much I enjoyed it and your kids are at the perfect age. They can go to the kids clubs when they want and y’all can still have private time

I keep hearing this. Not sure my wife is wild about cruises, but I've heard nothing but good things. Will have to look into it. What did y'all spend all-in for that trip?

It's 12-14 hours from Baton Rouge to HNL. You can go to Europe faster. Hot chocolate at the in view of the Eiffel Tower, or yet another nameless, faceless beach. You don't have to go during the summer like everyone else on the OT that isn't trapped in the Caribbean mindset. Hell, you could go to Santiago, Chile, in the same amount of time and it'll be 90 degrees.

That answers your question. We've taken our kids to Europe several times, but they were college age. I can't imagine the grind of international travel, packing/unpacking, wife bitching at you because everyone's not ready yet, etc. with that age group despite the cultural enrichment and memories you'd make. Just too young for that to me.

My thought? You didn't mention budgets, but I'd recommend an all inclusive with family activities.

Beaches Turks & Caicos is what you seek: Waterslides, kids’ clubs, Sesame Street characters, and gourmet dining. We were on the island a few years ago, self-directed, but did walk by that resort daily. Looked fun. Had friends that went, and they loved it. Look at dates/times/costs for further consideration.

Good Article!

PS: Maybe I'm changing my mind. Just got back from a 2 week Viking Cruise originating in Norway and ending up in Iceland. NOW..Iceland is amazing. Waterfalls. Geyers. Hot pools. AND..Iceland Air does very reasonably flights from Nashville direct. What a cool trip that would be. NOW..It's expensive, but I've had friends do the AirBNB route, rent cars, shop for local groceries and it wasn't that bad.

Selected Photos From Recent Iceland Trip!

You know what would be really cool for the kids. If you could time it for an Iceland Football or Basketball game and watch the famous "Viking Thunder Clap"! Which the Minnesota Vikings ripped off. Other than the Haka, nothing more powerful!

Skol!!!

can’t remember fully,7 nights are more $$. I’d guess around 10k with flights, excursions. It’s much more expensive than other cruises but it is worth it for us. They run some deals sometimes too
