Just came across this and don't remember it from when it released. I don't think I was big into AMC back then.
Seems like it may be a pretty good mini-series. Accoridng to IMDB it won 4 emmy's

I'm watching because I've been on a Thomas Haden Church kick lately.
The film is set in 1898, revolves around Print Ritter and his estranged nephew Tom Harte. They become the reluctant guardians of five abused and abandoned Chinese girls. Ritter and Harte’s attempts to care for the girls while avoiding a group of bitter rivals…
Also I couldn't find it streaming anywhere but was able to purchase it for $13

It is truly a great movie/mini series. Duvall and Thomas Haden Church was an epic duo.

Dude, Broken Trail is awesome. Church is ruthless and its a good story with some solid editing/pacing.

Solid Western. Church was pretty good in it. Duvall is solid with those characters.

I think hes better cast in this tho as a badass with a decent heart
