Woodson's landing(Saline) closed

I just saw that a member of the Woodson family announced the closing of the landing. It had become my go-to given the often bad condition of the Open Bayou road. Is there another landing open on Big Creak?

The conditions of the roads in and around the greater Saline/Larto complex is more than disappointing. It's one of the main reasons I don't fish it as much as I'd like. I've always launched at Phil's landing off Cross bayou and seems like I have to fix something on my trailer or boat after every trip.

I rode my mountain bike from my house off Prescott rd to our buddies camp out there.i got lucky when i hit the levee and had zero traffic or dust in July.

I always had to pay when I launched my boat there.
Also got some revenue from people that had their campers there.

Hate to hear that.I always liked him,haven’t been there in quite a few years.
I remember once he fell off a ladder and broke his back,I believe.Was in a big cast in a wheelchair for awhile.He and his wife were there for awhile,she had to do every thing.She didn’t seem very happy about it.
I heard a story about him getting in a shootout when he was a Sheriff deputy,I was told he was shot 5-6 times.
I never asked him about it.
