It looks great and really cool. I do want to go eventually.

My wife hates going to the Westbank so its a tough sell but I think if I don't tell her where it is she will go

I was thinking about posting this myself. Would love to hear some feedback. I, too, have a Westbank-averse spouse so I need intel to convince him.

I enjoyed her sister restaurant Mosquito Supper Club. Haven't been to Saint Claire yet but have friends who have. They enjoyed the food but suggested waiting until cooler weather arrives and grabbing their outdoor seating. The seating inside is TIGHT.

My wife balks at the West Bank too. I plan to take her to Saint Claire without telling her where we are going.

It was very good in a cool setting. We had a couple of small plates and an entrée each. One small plate was smoked beets w creme fraiche and trout roe. I'm not as into beets as wifey, but they were very good and unlike any preparation I'd had before. Other small plate was rabbit rillettes w sourdough and a mustard and jam. Loved it. My choice of grouper was very good, but I wish I went with my gut and ordered the crab gnocchi. I'll probably get it next time. Grouper was fried beautifully and tasted great, but I found the sauce with tomato, beans and fried okra just okay. I saved the best for last when I say that the duck confit that wifey ordered was the best I've ever had. It was served with muscadines and country ham. Phenomenal combo. I've had the duck confit at the sister restaurant, Mosquito Supper Club, and loved that one. But this is next level. Definite re-order for her and I'll happily help her finish it again lol. Dessert was good as well, a frozen-ish chocolate mousse type of thing. I don't remember the name as it wasn't on the menu. All in all, a great meal. Half the price of MSC and you can pick what you want. Service was very good and our waitress went into great detail about how some dishes were prepared. I reiterate - order the duck! Melissa Martin and her team are masterful at it.

Nice review.

Was the place crowded?

No, it wasn't too crowded. There was an empty table next to us the entire time we were there. I'd say 85% full. Some people were sitting on the porch as well.
