Why didn’t lsu have someone back there to try and return it? I thought they should have

yeah, that appears to be an oversight...that would have made them just punt normally.

I agree with hedging on the fake. If a college kicker can make a 63 yard FG they deserve the 3 points.

If I was worried about the fake sitting at my house then you know damn well BK was also thinking the same thing.
If they would have faked for a 1st down that would have been a huge momentum swing.
If we dont show them the block formation they may have actually gone for it. But instead they pooched it bc we were in protect.

In my opinion that set up is made so if it’s there they can throw the fake. If it’s covered you pooch kick it. We were ready so they kicked.

literally everyone was worried about the fake andnit was a fake with a funny option if the kicker didn’t like the look.

Not just the fake, but a block is more common that far out because of the trajectory of the ball.

Any punt downed inside the 20 is a plus.
