Looking for a good neighborhood to get an Airbnb. Any other recommendations on things to do in Buffalo also appreciated.

I'll be with my young son, so nightlife is not a priority.

There's a lot of threads on here about Buffalo LINK, LINK, LINK, etc.

Good neighborhood airbnb- Will you have a car? Do you want to be walkable to things or just looking for a place to stay the night and will be out of the house for 95% of the day? Do not stay on the 'east side ' aka the fruit belt, Broadway area. Lancaster is nice just off of 33, downtown near Delaware park is safe

I'm in Buf for business now and then. Don't bother with Anchor bar, the "original buffalo wings place". That place sucks, I'd rather have Sonic buffalo nuggets by a long shot.

Carbone's pizza is awesome. Its in the first ward and very low key. Try a couple slices, some with the sweet sauce. Very good. Keep your head on a swivel, it's not candyland.

Swan Street Diner has some of the best corned beef hash I've had in a very long time. Great breakfast.

Yes and yes.
Will have a car, but would prefer to walk to restaurants for meals.
Thank you for the links.

I would look in Allentown. Near everything, has a good amount of bars and restaurants, and is a fun spot around games—dubbed as “Josh Allentown.”

Looks like the linked threads added a lot to do in Buffalo, but as one of the posts mentioned; if you plan on doing Niagra, consider going to the Canadian side. Along with the boat ride, beyond the falls, and some of the other cool stuff around the falls; there is also a zipline course, WildPlay, that brings you to a spot that overlooks the Whirlpool
