I have a 2001 Toyota Tundra (320,000 miles) and even though she looks a little rough I'm not ready to let her go yet so I keep nursing her along.

The top black strip of sealing material for the front windshield is pulling up and about 75% off. I can easily put in back in the groove but it just keep coming back up. Tried duct tape (of course) but that starts to come off in the heat/rain.

Any of y'all ever used an adhesive to repair a strip that is pulling up from around your windshield and if so what did you use?

I'm thinking Gorilla Glue but that's probably not the right answer.

Weatherstrip adhesive. Superglue gel if you are gluing the rubber to other rubber.

I would just get some clear or black silicone.

Not that.

Some 3M 5200 marine adhesive in clear or black would probably make it damn near permanent.

Any auto parts store will have windshield adhesive.

Or take it by a glass shop and have them fix it for you.

this. I patched a water leak on my windshield with bathroom silicone. And also glued down the strip you’re talking about. Just clean it so the shite will stick.

This is happening to my 2013 Toyota Toyota Highlander. It melted. But water isn’t getting inside. Just looks bad. I was wondering if i could buy a new one and just smash it in there where the old one melted and pulled away?? I know nothing about such things though….

I'm the biggest 5200 junkie on earth and I wouldn't go anywhere around any vehicle with that stuff. What if the windshield needs to get replaced?

Was coming here to post that exact part number. It's what any windshield place or body shop would use.
