The veteran wide receiver is headed to Minnesota, where he played for 10 seasons to start his career as an undrafted free agent, along with a 2026 fifth-round pick and a 2027 fourth-round pick, while Carolina gets a conditional 2026 seventh-round pick and a fifth-round pick in 2027 in return.

giving up 4th & 5th round pick and player for a 5th round pick and maybe a 7th

is there a missing 3rd rounder?

The player is Indian, so there’s a 50% tariff on round swaps.

Then cut him and save your picks. He had a one year deal for $8 MM, but only $3.5 was guaranteed and they already paid him $2 million of that.

You are saving only $1.5 million and you still need to pay someone who is taking the roster spot.

Link has it backwards. The Panthers get the 5th and the 4th and gave up the 7th and 5th.

It’s backwards but there are plenty of other examples of teams giving up more assets and the player due to salary considerations

The team on Wednesday agreed to acquire veteran wide receiver Adam Thielen in a trade with the Carolina Panthers.

Minnesota also acquired a conditional 2026 seventh-round pick in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick and a fourth-round pick in 2027.

To clarify the thread

Minnesota receives:
Adam Thielen
Conditional 2026 seventh-round pick

Carolina receives:
2026 fifth-round pick
2027 fourth-round pick

We’ve become so numb to numbers to the point that $1.5 million is “only $1.5 million.”

You don’t get rich by being willy nilly with that kind of money.

Supposedly the Panthers were either going to trade Thielen or have to cut one of their young promising guys in Jalen Coker or Jimmy Horn. You can’t carry 7 WR’s going into week 1.

Sucks to see AT go but this was the right move. Bryce has built chemistry with his other guys.
