NFL kickers nailing 55+ yard field goals all the time.

The evolution of kickers is insane. 30-40 years ago teams did not attempt a 55-60 yard field goal unless it’s at the half or at the end of the game. It was rarely attempted. Now once they pass mid-field they are “in field goal range,” and there is barely any hesitation sending them out on 4th down no matter what point in the game it is. The kicking style has not changed. It’s impressive yet crazy at the same time. I guess they are doing better weight training today.

I agree. I also think it helps kicking in a dome with turf. Not as easy in an outdoor stadium with wind. More teams play indoors now.
