If tweet fails to load, click here. Seems they are ready to say farewell to AK. Full 12 min video on YouTube. They filmed this in Chicago last week before he shot an 82 in R1 (followed by rounds of 68 & 65)

Wait, relegation and the “open system” for liv is only the very last 6 of 54 golfers being dropped?

No… only the top 24 qualify for next year.
25-48 are in the “open zone”.
Pat Perez finished 48th last year & wasn’t resigned to a team
ETA: Chieh-Po Lee is safe from relegation, but that doesn’t mean he’ll play on LIV next year

Just looking at the standings. They really need to update their points system. Nieman should be the runaway winner already. He's literally won 5 of the 12 tournaments and Rahm is only 12 points back without winning a tournament.
Granted Rahm has been top 10 virtually every event, but still only 3 top 3 finishes and no wins. No way anyone should be in reaching distance of Nieman.

Yeah but Rahm has been right there for almost 11 out of 12 tournaments

Nah you said “and the open system”. That is for 30 out of 54 golfers.

So one guy has won almost half of the tournaments, another guy has won zero, and they are close on the standings
Seems like a league that really rewards being second fiddler. Fitting

Bro Tommy Fleetwood is 2nd in PGA Tour’s standings
You seem to be in a mood today
ETA: sorry, currently projected 2nd

Are you telling me how LIV golf works? Pat Perez didn’t get picked

I get it, he's been good, very good. But it's just kind of insane that a guy can win almost half of the tournaments and a guy who doesn't win any and can still beat him. Either wins aren't rewarded enough or 4th-10th finishes are rewarded too much.

An “open system” refers to who qualifies and who does not for next year. That number is 6 of 54 for liv
The “I hope my buddy golfer picks me” is not going to count to the open system
That’s not even taking into account will liv even follow their own relegation. They didn’t last year….

I think it is done purposely to make the season championship interesting.
1st - 40 pts
2nd - 30 pts
3rd - 24 pts, 18, 16, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, etc

If Scottie didn’t play this week(zero points) and Fleetwood won he still would trail Scottie by 1,000 points
Also, Fleetwood is 8th in the standings, not 2nd…… But don’t let Jim get in the way of facts

Scottie Scheffler
5,456
2
Rory McIlroy
3,444
3
J.J. Spaun

6
Russell Henley
