It would probably be a good game this year. Clemson's non-conference schedule is almost as crappy as LSU's

football season comes around and you guys talk up how hard it is to play weekend week out in the SEC.... so the OCC schedule doesn't really matter.

tables are turned in basketball.. week in and week out in the ACC basketball little more difficult than the SEC weekend and week out.

Wow, I had no idea that Clemson was so far sub-mendoza in league play and overall all-time..

But I had to research what I assumed to be the case, if gonna contrast their weak history compared to LSU's..which has the 1935 NCAA Title in the rafters..plus '53, 81, '86, '06 Final Fours..3 of the NBA's Alltime Top 50 Players..6 Elite Eights..9 Sweet Sixteens..

No Comparison!

You mean all the way back to 2006..that ancient history when LSU went to the Final Four via beating longtime 2006 season #1 Duke from the ACC?

And yes, obviously LSU and the SEC isn't the ACC in prestige and/nor history in Hoops.

Considering the lack of support for the basketball program and outright attacks from the LSU fanbase during the Brady years, Brady's achievements were quite frankly amazing--no matter what you think of Brady on a personal level.

Face it, the SEC is the weakest BCS basketball conference, and even Kentucky has become a has-been perennial power.

Not even Florida and their coach has been able to maintain Florida's lofty heights of just two or three years ago.

I don't care who the LSU head coach is, we should support him and the recruiting program at all times. To do so, only feeds the egos of the RANTard haters and diminishes our chances of attracting great talent.

Looks like the haters have lost some of their blood lust since Brady has left, and that is a good thing.

Without the constant attaks by our fan base, coach Johnson should get us an outright SEC championship, maybe even a couple of SEC chanpionships, and a trip to the Final-4 within a decade.

Did Clemson ever send Elden Campbell a thank you note for one of it's rare glory seasons or two?

How would've LSU fared if it weren't raided for Tyrus and Randolph after mere one shining breakout season apiece?

If Brady's accomplishments were "amazing" to you, then what Johnson is doing, must come off as a second coming of biblical proportions?

Bad Cat, as a season ticket holder, since you are in NY, I must tell you, fans in the PMAC and around BR are absolutely giddy about him and LSU Hoops future..everyone feels we have a true program HC for the first time since Dale Brown..everyone loves his demeanor, confidence, composure, chemistry, competence..everyone is sold..and onboard..we all put our Negatiger gear in storage when he made the Spring tours speaking..got a keeper!

Alright, there's a lot of bullshite in this thread, so let me straighten things out.

- There is no reason to give a flying frick who likes the coach. Ever. Unless his name is Hitler, I don't care how warm and fuzzy he makes former players feel.

- At LSU, if you make the Big Dance, you had a good season; if you don't make the Big Dance, you had a shitty season. It doesn't matter if you're 8-8 or 0-16--it's still a shitty season.

- It's about what the coach puts in the trophy case. John Brady got us two SEC titles and a Final Four in 11 years (Dale Brown got us four SEC titles and two Final Fours in 25 years).

- I don't give a shite who does or doesn't want to hire Brady. Nobody wants to hire Kevin Stallings, either, but somehow we almost all agree that he's a good coach. I don't know why nobody wants him, and I don't fricking care.

The Brady Years: a Retrospective:
1998: Sucked about as much as expected.
1999: Sucked about as much as expected.
2000: SEC champs, Sweet 16 despite sanctions.
2001: 2-14. Two starters out for the SEC season. LSU led in the last five minutes of six games it ended up losing; the Tigers only had seven players in the rotation for most games.
2002: 6-10. Better.
2003: 8-8. Better.
2004: 8-8. Not worse.
2005: 12-4. Showing promise.
2006: 14-2, SEC champs, Final Four. The Brady Bashers were proven wrong, though they would be in denial three years later.
2007: Sucked. Let's see if Brady can climb to the top again.
2008: Sucked. Brady gets fired at exactly the right time.

Brady Bashers, you were proven to be morons, and you'll always be morons because you can't help it. You wanted Brady fired year after year, and it's a good thing that he wasn't fired because LSU probably wouldn't have gone to the Final Four.

Most of you morons wanted dipshits like Tim Floyd, who is good at winning the fricking Sun Belt, but he has never won anywhere else (come to think of it, why does anybody in the fricking world want to hire Tim Floyd but nobody wants to hire Kevin Stallings? This bugs the shite out of me.).

Brady's job was never to be liked. It was to win. And he won more than any of you (or I) ever expected him to. You stupid asses need to quit being such women and viewing this as a soap opera and remember that this is a fricking sport. It's the win/loss column and the trophy case that matters, not whether or not the coach has a fricking smile on his face.

And of course he distanced himself from former players. Remember when he was hired? Remember what was going on at the time? Former players needed to stay away from the program for a while; things got ugly because of nothing Brady did. In all honesty, Brady had little choice in that.

I guess you wouldn't understand what it means to be a true fan. I'm a Tiger fan no matter what--I never had any Negatiger gear. I don't need to like the coach--I just like LSU.

You'll understand one day.
