AI for Bookkeeping/Basic Accounting Reports

I'm looking for a free or very low cost one to use for a side business where I need to keep costs down. Just need basic reports like profit & loss, general ledger, and balance sheet. Nothing fancy.
An accountant will review come tax time.
I may try super grok, but wondering if anyone here can recommend anything.

Your best bet is to ask any of them (I prefer Chatgtp) to make you a spreadsheet to do what you want.
quote:
Make an accounting report for Google Sheets that uses a general ledger and a balance sheet and tracks profit and loss.

Look at Wave accounting software. There is a free version that’s decent if you have a small, simple business. I have a friend who does a side hustle doing electrical repair work (he is a union electrician full time) and I helped him set it up. He doesn’t have any inventory, or accounts receivable as he is usually paid right way. No accounts payable as he just uses his business checking account debit card to purchase materials, so set him up on a cash basis instead of accrual.

I read this yesterday, and am still confused what "AI" has to do with this? You have to scan statements, etc., but you resorted to bringing AI into the equation for some reason. Why? You want to keep costs down, but can't scan stuff yourself? I presume you don't have a lot of invoices AR or AP, since it's small, so I don't get your point. If what you meant is you wanted cheap accounting software, and AI didn't have anything to do with it, but you wanted to sound like a millennial, there are plenty of resources.

What accounting software do you use where all you have to do is scan in bank statements?

Huh? I've been receiving e-statements for years and normally downloaded CSV files which I'd send to the bookkeeper. Haven't received nor scanned a paper bank statement in over 10 years.

I’ve been using Unit4 for my side business. It gives me the basic reports (P&L, balance sheet, GL) and keeps things tidy enough for when my accountant checks it.
