Home Security Help

I purchased a home that had a few home owners. One of the previous owners has a “Bengal Security” system throughout the house with multiple keypads, installed cameras, and a touch pad Im assuming for a smart home. None of it works however and when I looked up Bengal Security, they no longer exist. Am I better off just getting all that removed myself and patching the holes in the wall, and installing my SimpliSafe?

It’s either that or call a local company to come attach their system “brain” to your sensors and just run that. Last one like that cost me about $300 and I like it much better than Simplisafe and dealing with batteries going out all the time.

I just like the SimpliSafe being $32/month compared to like $75/month that Rev is offering lol

Does anyone else just have a security system without the monthly service? My security system obviously will wake me up. I'm defending my house if anyone breaks in. When we are away, my security system will notify my phone if anyone breaks in. I have exterior cameras protecting the perimeter of our house and they would capture and notify my phone if anyone is snooping around our property and if they break in while I am away, I am calling the police and my neighbors and I am headed back to protect my house as well. . I'll also be notified if I have a fire, and I can call the fire department myself. I just don't see the need to pay a security service to respond to alarms at our house. We used one a long time ago and they were a slight nuisance whenever we accidentally set off a door alarm. Anyone snooping around any of my neighbors houses that isn't supposed to be there gets confronted by other neighbors. We all know, help and look out for each other. We also have very little crime in our area of our small town.

Yes, Reolink POE system. No monthly service. It will notify me of alerts if connected to my network but if network does down (we only have satellite options where we live) it will still record on the NVR. Highly recommend if you don’t need EMS notification and don’t want a monthly service bill. Easy DIY job.

I had wired keypads and sensors already.
Added the board from EyezOn that connects it to the internet and allows me to get text notifications and control things from my phone. It's a $109 add on circuit board. Might be what you need to upgrade the existing system.
