I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025) spoilers

the killer(s) pissed me off, the one of the friends I get but
Ray? Get over with what happen in 97, Julie learned to live with it. I loved to SMG (Helen) cameo and Brandy showing up in the mid-credit scene to set up a sequel. Most of these people in this movie felt like shitty people in general that I didn't care whether they lived or not.

don't think so, but you do get some girl-on-girl action in a airport restroom

It was a pretty contrived plot. Even for slasher movie standards. And the twist… Absolutely insanely stupid.

Just got out of this and man I don’t know how to feel about it.
For people asking if it’s a reboot or a sequel. It’s definitely a sequel that is its own movie. The first act has a reboot vibe but then it becomes its own thing during act 2 and 3.
Ray??!? Interesting twist but come on. “I had to make them remember us!”
That is the 2025 equivalent of “I don’t want your life” from Varsity Blues
Teddy was the best character. They try to make you think that the cops are crooked but it doesn’t really work well.
The girls are hot. Some lesbian action. Sarah Michelle Gellar cameo was cool.
That ending was just shocking. They are definitely trying to do some reverse Terminator 2 shite to get people talking about it.
Overall I enjoyed it. Probably will watch it one more time when it hits streaming. Would recommend for people to go watch if they are bored but not go out of your way. Having said all that, I hope it makes a profit because I sure do miss low budget cheesy slasher movies like this.

I didn't hate it, I just didn't like how they basically crapped over the Julie & Ray relationship from the first two movies

I didn’t like that either. Didn’t even have the decency to let us know what happened to them the last 30 years.
One thing I noticed is that the way slasher movies are going to handle cell phones from this point forward is that they are either dead, no cell service, left them in the car, or they just forget that they have them in the heat of the moment.

I guess nobody is taking care of Helen's gravestone? Why would there still be a picture of her after 30 years near it?

I just assumed that a family member goes out there and puts one out every 4th of July.

It was so bad
The ending felt like 3 completely different endings just stitched together.
I get that the original is pretty hokey and they were trying to play into that, but it comes off like someone wrote a satire script, and then that script got directed like it was a serious attempt at a horror movie. At times it sounded like they were reading out loud the script queues instead of the actual dialogue
When they first see their old friend that ends up the killer, they all just sit about 20 feet from her and stare while they go “didn’t she go to rehab? Weren’t we super close friends in high school and then she went crazy?? Anyways we should invite her” - like they wouldn’t already know that!
My internal monologue was doing the Katt Williams “bitch don’t you know that I can see you” video
For as rich as these people are made out to be, there’s no cameras at these houses? No one owns a single gun? After the first gruesome murder, they set up 1 patrol car to sit in the front driveway?
and seemingly after every encounter with a gruesome murder, attempted murder, or some other deep trauma, every character needs about 2 minutes before they are cracking jokes and deciding they need to go for a walk alone
The Sarah Michell Hellas dream sequence was so weird, felt like they just wanted to find a way to use her as much as possible. She looked younger than some of the main cast
For the first killer twist, I haven’t seen a movie villain do such a cheesy sudden personality switch and “this is why I did it” speech since they spoofed the concept in Austin powers and scary movie. Felt so random after that character just hung in the background for most of the movie
Plenty more small stuff I could say about it besides that, the last thing I’ll mention is how dumb it is to make a pure sequel and call it the same thing as the first one

I'm not watching this shite but wouldn't they have to de-age her because she's been dead for 30 years in that universe so how would she look older?

She’s in a dream sequence towards the end. It really has nothing to do with the plot but I think they wanted to find a reason to use her and I don’t think they used deaging, atleast not in the distracting Star Wars way
I was just saying she’s still fine as hell

The final act really highlighted how bad of a weapon that hook is
it was nice of Freddie to decide to just grab the main girls back to bring her back into the bar to kill her rather than just ya know use the hook to do so
Also forgot to mention the scene at the beach at the end was mildly infuriating. What was the point of that, who decided that was the way to end the movie, why do they not seem to care that the main person who wanted to kill them is still loose

They did say hey we gotta go kill that bitch

I figured something was up with SMG with how often they mentioned her and showed her in that pic with Barry & Julie

wonder why the left Brandy for the mid-credit scene? you'd have to assume you're green lit for a sequel
Posted on 7/17/25 at 9:05 pm to hsfolk
Yeah they kept bringing her up for not really much payoff at all. Must’ve paid her and FPJ a ton and wanted to get their money worth

These days I think they just write in the MCU post credit sequel tease regardless of knowing if they get it. Outrageous confidence to put that in at the end of this dogshit revival attempt

that girl killer was mad about what happened, but she was all with them when that truck went over the side
