I’d rather just total fight judging, rather than round by round

ETA: total damage inflicted, and closest to end the fight should be the two biggest factors. If those 2 things are too close to call the fight then octagon control and aggression should be the next two factors.

100%. 10 point must: Lose first 2 rounds by a jab, the dominate the 3rd short of a 10/8 and you lose the fight

I think each rounds scoring by the judges should be known during the fight at the conclusion of the round. Knowing what you need in the 3rd or 5th round is the right thing to do, plus it could make for some exciting final rounds for those who know they need a finish.

What other sport do you go into the final inning, quarter, period, or half, and not know if you are winning or losing.

Half points aren't any different than opening up the scoring to more 10-7 rounds and less frequent 10-6's and even 10-5's. Either way the official ABC scoring criteria would need to be changed to allow judges more latitude.

This also gives the person ahead the ability to coast through the final round.

It’s better when neither knows.

I’d rather they get a more talented pool of judges. There are many former fighters that could fill that role really well and do better than adalaide byrd

Leben is judging, Frank Trigg is reffing. It's a start at least. I would want older fighters who are well separated from any conflicts of interest though.
