I'll be in Nashville the last week of July. Are there any decent courses that aren't private? Are there any private courses that accept members from other clubs?

Gaylord Springs for public. Could also try Tennessee Grasslands which has 2 courses, Fairvue and Foxland (both private but may reciprocate). Those two are in Gallatin, TN which is about 25 min or so north of downtown Nashville.

Gaylord Springs is pretty nice. It’s a links style course and sits along the river on one side and the other side is carved out of the foothills.
I think Hermitage is going to be your other best bet, but I’ve never played it.

Greystone (little drive, but 100% worth it)
Hermitage (either course)
Gaylord Springs
Harpeth Hills is really nice and cheap, but it’s a muni and hard to get on generally because the amount of play

Those are your two best non muni bets.
Harpeth, two rivers, ted, McCabe in that order. All four of those are going to be impossible to get on unless you call at 7am a week ahead.
Do Hermitage or Gaylord.
Greystone is also awesome buts it’s 30-40 mins minutes west of town in Dickson.
