The month of July is when the deer really start to show down in South Texas. Hopefully he’s a slick main frame 12 by the end of the month. I can see a little bump on his left antler so hopefully it grows to a couple inches.
It’s so wet and green down at our place that the deer aren’t really hitting the feeders. Not to mention the hogs are terrible so they are eating all the damn corn.

How’d your hill country place make out? I have friends that lost two feeders and a tree/bow blind near Comfort.

Everything seems to be fine. Someone is there right now and they killed a nice axis this afternoon.

Then eat the hogs...............problem solved. That's a lot of meat on the hoof----hams, ribs, pork bellies for bacon, shoulder roasts for making sausage or just roasting, heads and feet for hogshead cheese, skin for cracklins............................now I'm hungry.

Going to be a great buck. I read in a book that a true 12 point (6X6) is a 1 in 500K buck. Good genetics if he fills out. Let him breed!

I hope that little bump grows into a point over the next month. I had 10 to 12 10 pointers last year and going back through pics to see if I can spot him from last season.
My brother and I did not take a buck last year and the only buck shot off our place was a buddy of mine son killed a nice mature 8.

We've gotten 15" YTD so far at our place in Zavala county. Should be a good year.
