I bet if he'd stayed in the league he'd be somewhere else right now, like St. Louis.

You dont know Pat Tillman! He would neve have left to play for another team. Him and Bidwell were practically best friends. My idiot friend had his dog tags and lost them

Tillman had some very different views on life.

dude had a True Warrior spirit. He played football because he thought that was the most challenging thing a modern gladiator could do, then 9/11 showed him that Warriors still have a place in the military. It's hard to comprehend a mind like that sometimes.

He was amazing...he would have gone on to be a Senator or maybe even President.
ETA: What the military did after his death was disgusting.

and not the least bit uncommon. Just had a big light shined on it because he was Pat Tillman. Out of every soldier that had the same type of job as him and was KIA'd, I'd be willing to bet less than 1 percent of their deaths were reported how it actually happened and they definitely weren't further investigated. And I'm by no means saying this is a good thing, it's just how it is.

Yeah...the whole thing was tragic. Tillman is EASILY my favorite Sun Devil ever!

Please. They were tying to strengthen the myth that you have bought into.
He wanted to kill the enemy, and he died. He also happened to be good at football. That's it. He is no more worthy of hero status as any of the other young men who have died for our freedom. Enough already.

Uhm, very doubtful lol

Why is it doubtful? He wanted to go into politics? Besides being an American hero he was an amazing student. Graduated in 3 years with a great GPA. He could have done ANYTHING!

maybe not, but the uniqueness of it can't be denied. He left the American dream to fight for his country, that's a sacrifice most typical Americans could never understand.

Because playing football and joining the military doesn't come close to equating Presidency.
He was popular in the Arizona fan base, if he hadn't died the majority of the country, even sports fans, wouldn't know who he is.. just like when he played football.

The fact that he got his head blown off by his own people makes it even worse.

That is retarded.

WOW. Not a big sports guy apparently. Most guys that watched any football knew who Pat Tillman was. And I honestly don't see how you can't comprehend the fact that he could have easily been a senator or a congressman. He pretty much had all the criteria one looks for in that role.

How many people in the military would have turned down millions and millions of dollars to go fight in Afghanistan? Im sure A FEW but very few! Nothing against anyone else who was KIA but he is a hero and you are an idiot!
