Appreciate JJ's perspective on SEC championship

Vandy goes after that hard every year and wins it or makes championship a lot. JJ wants 1 win and then get ready to win national championship. 2 / 4 so far.
Last year was different. Needed a run in tourney to make NCAA championship.

Regular season titles and Conference Tournament titles are cool, adding trophies is nice, but in the end they dont mean shite.
unless you need a few victories in the SECT
in fact, pushing hard to win the SEC tournament could actually hurt your run the the NCAA tournament.
so its pointless. go after the big one.

Correct. Jay uses the tourney to achieve his goal. Which is 100% based on postseason seeding.

Winning the SEC tourney is a lot of fun. It's a little disappointing that Jay doesn't really good for it, if I'm being honest. Jay is big picture and always gunning for the big ship and I can absolutely respect that and it almost certainly is the right call (assuming you have a team you believe can win it). Still, as a fan, I want to win every game and every trophy because I am a fanatic. Jay know wtf he's doing, obviously, and in Jay I trust. I think absolutely everyone would take a Natty over a (honestly relatively meaningless) SEC tourney championship every day of the week and 5 times on Sunday.
