Do LSU fans ever reminisce about wins or almost wins decades ago?

Pot, meet kettle.

At least they realize how pathetic it is.

In 1973, I was living Uptown where I grew up and I didn't know hardly any LSU fans who also lived Uptown. They were considered exotic where I went to school. There were more Tulane fans Uptown than LSU fans. A lot more. Way more than a lot more. If you saw an LSU bumper sticker on a parked car Uptown, you assumed it was a painter or a pool cleaner. If someone had hung an LSU flag outside their house in 1973, their neighbors would have b!tched them out and accused them of hurting their property values. I'm not kidding.

Ahh the arrogance of Tulane fans. Pardon me if I call B.S. on this moron's recollection of history. Poooor Tulane, pavre Nawlins.

I have never seen something like that on this board

Seriously, let them rejoice in their past glory. Doubtful it happens again anytime soon if ever.

Yes, but for a different reason.

Almost as sad as claiming NC's that you have no crystal to show for it. Don't beleive anyone starts out the season as their top tier goal as "Lets win the AP NC".

Of course. It's "different".

Meaning, not something we need to dwell on to make us feel better.

I'll tell you like I told someone else here. Well done. Nice attempt to introduce a USC-LSU pissing contest in a thread completely void of the issue. Get over it.

True, true. However, that win has more meaning to them than other wins v. LSU. It had been decades since Tulane won a game v. LSU. And the rivalry was HUGE at the time. The behavior (reminiscing) is the same, but yeah.

True. There were the wheelbarrows. Loser pushed winner around. I know of some guys who would bet on the loser painting his house in the colors of the winner. Some Greenie fans had purple and gold houses for a long time!

Then I will tell you like you told someone else. Well done. Nice attempt to thinly veil your obvious concern with all things LSU into an attack on LSU fans living in the past.

Seeing as Tulane is a more consitent opponent of LSU and is also and in-state "rival," all Tulane related jokes are well within play. If you can't grasp what I mean, but sure to think about that the next time you get into it with a UCLA fan.

I'm sure that there are more than enough USC forums for you to go to.

Don't let the door hit you in the arse on your way out.

I grasp it well. I grew up in BR and NOLA. I agree that TU jokes are wel within play and actually needed. However, I was pointing out the obvious devil's advocate.
