Probably not. Travel ball has been the downfall of manliness in the sport

Travel ball only exists for baseball moms to drink wine and yell at umpires about balls and strikes even though they don’t even know what a strike zone is so they can have a social life on the weekends

A lot of that is true.
Then there are the few kids who actually need to travel because they work harder or are just bigger in some cases than the average kid.
They have to travel to get better at the game. Otherwise they stay local and hammer the average to below average kids. Does nobody any good

Not true. My kid is 12 and trust me nobody is recruiting him.

The time we spend together all weekend weather it’s baseball or anything else is precious.

Travel ball is ridiculous...cost way too much, and who has the schedule to be off to travel anyways? They can't develop these kids through rec ball and all stars?

They can but parents ego’s got way too big. Everyone thinks their child will get left behind, when in reality, most of those kids get injured and stop playing or burn out completely.

That’s not true.

The posters saying it’s for parents’ egos, etc, that’s true in many cases but that’s just a side effect.

Egos and the belief that little Jaxton is good enough to get noticed by scouts and needs the exposure didn’t cause the demise of rec ball.

These organizations are profitable businesses, period. Just like any other business they market their product and they’re successful if they do it correctly.

It’s really that simple
