...many of which are middle middle. They have to be scouting this and telling them to just pitch a can of corn across every 1st pitch because he'll take

Probably because Jay tells him to

Dude why do y’all ask stupid shite like this. Do you honestly think that there’s somebody on the rant that’s gonna answer that question in a non-sarcastic way how the hell is anybody supposed to know that and that’s just your assumption which is ridiculous

Seens like 90% of the first pitch he takes are right down the pipe

He's batting about .350 with double digit homers.
I think he's doing just fine.

Not sure why people hate smart baseball. The more pitches he throws the sooner they have to change pitchers. Bullpen guys are not as good as starters in the pros in college it’s even more extreme

Some of y'all don't understand our offensive approach at all. Watch more ball

He's going to be a top 100 pick in the MLB draft and you never played D-1 ball
Why don't you STFU?

Y not? You have at LEAST 3 pitches before you strike out if theyre all strikes. Get the pitch count up.

And theres a thread complaining on swing on first pitch. You guys are running out of things to complain about

The UCLA starter had thrown a first pitch strike to 8 of the first 11 batters he faced.
Seems like the batters have to know these stats on pitchers.
If a pitcher throws a strike 70-80% of the time first pitch, they should be looking to tag it.

How many D1 pitchers you’ve faced?

Zero, the answer is zero. However my eyes work fine and the types of pitches he's watching on first pitch are the type he's capable of hitting into Kansas. He's just so good I hate to see him always starting in the hole 0-1.

Omg last night yall were crying that nobody ever watches the first pitch

This right here is a prime example of the Dunning-Kruger effect
It’s smart to work counts

Some hitters learn a lot from watching a pitch.
It’s strike 2 that you never want to take.
