Supplementation for AC Separation Repair?

As I posted in the cycling thread, the boy did a Grade 2/3 tear in his AC joint. Ortho isn't pushing surgery, and we'd like to avoid it for now. He already does Protein, Vitamin D, Creatine. We've ordered collagen. Anything else we should look into out there? Trying to get him back on the downhill bike before the end of the season. National Champs are in 6 weeks or so, which isn't going to happen, but there's still a lot of racing through November.
Anyway, this board usually has some ideas about alternative modalities for health, so I thought I'd put it out there.

Any recommendations for things to look for when sourcing? Definitely more interested in oral than injectable.

Well not sure what the magic was, but 3 weeks in to the grade 3 AC separation, and the kid is cleared for all activity he can handle. Orthopedic specialist and exercise physio said it’s as quick and complete of a recovery as they’ve seen from a tear of that level. He was actually back on the bike just to follow his friends at the bike park and do some filming at 2 weeks in. Now he’s got to get serious about building his strength back.
