Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe (R) on Thursday declared a state of emergency and activated the state’s National Guard in anticipation of protests across the state — and in response to “civil unrest” across the country.

Missouri Executive Order 25-25 declares a State of Emergency and allows the Adjutant General to order service members to aid state officials.

The order comes after the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Missouri National Guard and Missouri Department of Public Safety established a Unified Command to monitor situations across the state and prepare local law enforcement.

“We respect, and will defend, the right to peacefully protest, but we will not tolerate violence or lawlessness in our state,” the governor said.

“While other states may wait for chaos to ensue, the State of Missouri is taking a proactive approach in the event that assistance is needed to support local law enforcement in protecting our citizens and communities,” he added. LINK

Sadly KC isn't far behind STL in that category. I thought about going downtown with a MAGA flag on the roof of the parking garage i use, but probably not a great idea.

I had the same initial reaction, but thats how things work in today's government if you want possible outside resources to help

As long as there is no overreaction, I'm ok with it here.

I swear to God if protestors block the interstate in Kansas City while I'm trying to get to Omaha...

But hasn't authoritarian governance always started incrementally?

Recall how we all lived through the nonsensical Covid "muh 2 weeks curve"? That soon evolved into mandatory masks to enter stores, 6' apart space, mandated vaxxes, and modified Martial Law lockdowns and restrictions to parks, beaches, etc.

These "spontaneous" and conspicuous "muh-King" riots have obviously begun and spread for this specific timeline out of thin air. FOR REASON imo.

An aside -- what do you think of Trump's upcoming and very coincidental Military Parade?

The use of the emergency declaration is normally to access federal pr State resources.

Unfortunately thats how the system is set up.

No, a governor can actually be pro-active if he chooses to be unlike the governor of California.

Which "Phase" were we in when under the rule of the "Auto Pen", Wray, Mayorkas, and Atty General, Garland, were attacking anyone who disagreed with the Communist Regime.

Isn't it racist, anti American or illegal to call up the national guard? Or is that reserved for only if Trump does it?

That was obviously "Black Hat" Cluster-frick phase of this occupied "Republic" that set up a "White Hat Hero" to ride into Dodge to clean it up of those varmints. AGAIN. But is that really going to happen?

Btw, have any of the villainous varmints been arrested? Detained? Sentenced?

What's that tell us?
