Obama moved the goalposts, actually just got rid of them.
There were two stats on removal. Turnarounds at the border, by far the larget number. And deportations, picking them up inside the US and removing them.
Obama combined and called them all "deportations". Then he compared his numbers to Bush actual deportations and voila he was the deport king. His numbers of actual deportations were far below most presidents.

Obama was against illegal immigration until democrats crafted a scam to get them in the country first and then let them vote at some point.

From what I gather, the Obama administration decided to start including "turnarounds" to the number od deportations, which inflated the numbers and allowed him to pursue DACA without being perceived as soft on the border. Brilliant politician!
