Could be:
SPR
Band of Brothers
D:Day
Etc
Do you make a point to watch something along the lines of the Normandy Invasion every year?
My dad is currently over there for the 81st anniversary. It’s been stirring my emotions with his pictures. I had a Great Uncle that was taken from me, my Grandads only sibling, because of Hitler. He landed on Omaha on D-Day plus 7, but ultimately died in France fighting to advance into Germany
I make it a point every year to put something on. Tonight I’m taking my wife’s phone away for the first 40 minutes of Saving Private Ryan to make her watch what those men went through.
I meant to watch BoB episode where they drop last night but didn’t get to it.
I’ll never forget my Grandad, before he passed in 2015, mentioning two things: him never buying German, and a vacuum existing in our family tree because of Hitler.
I’ll also never forget in 1998, I was too young to go, but my dad telling me and my brother about the theater experience with my Grandad watching Saving Private Ryan, my Grandad was weeping in the theater during the scene they came to tell Mrs Ryan about her sons. Because he vividly remembered the same happening when they heard about his brother.
Men were men then. Greatest Generation.
Also, I wanna give a shoutout to whomever had a relative on their way to Saipan. That happened at the same time and it’s forgotten about because of D-Day. But we had 500 ships and 300,000 men sailing towards Saipan when D-Day was happening. Amazing. How did we do both?

Add Dunkirk to that list, and yes.

Do you do a June 8, 1967 viewing every year on the anniversary?

I can’t watch the same movies that consistently. I watch SPR and The Longest Day and it will be probably a decade at least before I watch them again
