Dulac to Pelto Route

You could launch at Channel side Marina at the end of Shrimpers Row Rd. Head south down Houma Nav. Canal.

Make sure and check all the road and bridge closures down that way before going. Its a clusterfrick!!!

This is correct, but you can also get yourself in trouble. Bayou Sale is not as defined as it once was and if you do not know the area, you can certainly run aground. You can also go Oak bayou by the 3B camp to Pelto. but it is the same thing.

OP's best and safest bet is heading southwest at the 4 way rocks through Tambor Bay and Bay St. Elaine. As others have said, Lake Pelto ain't what it used to be. There are some new CCS reefs that produce and all of the old spots will produce, but nothing like 5-10 years back.

I’m having the same problem. This has been an off couple of years. Fished grand isle and hammered them this past weekend. All my friends that fished Dulac fought with sharks and slow bites.

You almost can’t fish coco and Dulac anymore unless conditions are perfect. Land loss allows everything to chop up and become less predictable.

I’m surprised to hear last year wasn’t good for you. Made my usual 6 trips and of course limits at only 15 per, but found that size wasn’t an issue

This year could be affected by those freezes, but I havent been yet. My cousin got a 2 man limit Sunday

Of course, we don’t go if the wind, water, and tide isn’t right. Usually lines up about 5 times in the summer
