Leaves a ton on base. Mediocre last half of season. Swap him and Frey in batting order.

LSU didn’t need his bat this weekend
Going forward will be a different story

Is he supposed to be good in baseball? Every time I watch he does the same things.

So frustrating watching him at the plate

It makes no sense sticking with him in the 2 hole. I don’t get it. This isn’t a time to be “nice” or “loyal” or any of that bullshite.
If he gets moved down into the 5-6 hole that doesn’t mean JJ is bailing on him.
How many runners has he left on? It’s baseball, hitters go through slumps. We don’t have time to “wait and see”.

He’s had many opportunities to come out of slump, time to adjust line up

Anyone else would’ve been out of the lineup by now

Jared Mitchell answered a question like this on Thursday. Granted- it was about a different LSU player, but he cited “what it could do to a kids mentality when you’ve put them on this pedestal all season and then you pull the rug out from under them”
This kind of change sounds like real life to me. “What have you done for me lately” always fits situations like this. ESP when the situation has been ongoing for several weeks.
