The Vast of Night (spoiler-ish)

Rewatched this one a couple nights ago, and man it has to be one of the best alien-type movies ever. It's just so incredibly well done. And the best part about it is that it is so overly simple in its delivery.
There aren't any ridiculous premises or plot points or anything like that. It's just the two main kids walking around this small town wondering what the frick is going on and trying to piece shite together to figure it out. It's pretty well acted by just about everybody as well.
My only real gripe (and it's not really even a gripe in full) is that once they do finally show the alien ships, they show them a little too well/much. The SFX aren't top notch. It would've been better had they simply kept the UFOs more in the dark. But that being said, I don't mind the payoff we get with actually seeing that there is something up there. And I like that they don't leave the ending ambiguous at all.
Just a really well done, great invasion type movie from start to finish. It's VERY low budget, but weirdly doesn't feel like it too often. And the way it's shot in pretty much real-time works really well for the story. It builds tension really well. And it's a crisp 8-minute runtime too, so it's an easy watch.
I would say this movie is to alien movies what Primer is to time travel movies. Just a really solid, low budget entry that is better than most efforts within the genre. If you are into alien/invasion type movies and haven't seen it, I'd recommend you watch it immediately (and report back and let me know what you think).
BTW, I watched it on Prime. It had commercials, but I believe only one really long set before it started, and then one about 2/3 through the movie. So it was very tolerable and not like the movie was broken up by a commercial break every ten minutes.
Any fans of this one? If so, your thoughts?

Watched it when it came out. With no commercials. Liked everything about it except for the ending. I think they reached too far on that & would have best just left things more open ended.
And that girl… wow she was great in her roll! That’s the impression I had at least.

Explain that (feel free to include spoiler tags before you do).

I think it’d have worked better if they weren’t abducted.

It was completely forgettable, IMO.
Did a good job of paying homage to old-school sci-fi, however.

I think it was very well done, and a reminder that a good story doesn't need the budget of a small country to bring it to the screen.
