Mine was released today in 1987

What album changed you life?
That significantly changed or greatly impacted your music taste forever

This concert 2 months later solidified it

i have never thought a album changed my life or anything, but this album since 12 years old is the reason I play guitar and has been my favorite album since 1981

Tres Hombres. My entry into Rock 'n' Roll.

"With my can of dinner and a bunch of wine." Still a cornerstone of my dietary philosophy.

I didn't think of Tres Hombres but I could easily put that one up there for me also.
Waiting for Columbus was the first thing that came to mind. Back in that day I bought this album simply because the album cover intrigued me so. I found it to be a fantastic sound, discovered it on my own, and didn't know of anyone else listening to this band at that time. Most impactful!

I generally don't reply to anyone using the word "impactful", but I'll make an exception this one time:

quote:

Nuggets: Original Artyfacts from the First Psychedelic Era is a compilation album of American psychedelic and garage rock singles that were released during the mid-to-late 1960s. It was created by Lenny Kaye, who was a writer and clerk at the Village Oldies record shop in New York. He would later become the lead guitarist for the Patti Smith Group. Kaye produced Nuggets under the supervision of Elektra Records founder Jac Holzman. Kaye conceived the project as a series of roughly eight LP installments focusing on different US regions, but Elektra convinced him that one double album would be more commercially viable. It was released on LP by Elektra in 1972 with liner notes by Kaye that contained one of the first uses of the term "punk rock". It was reissued with a new cover design by Sire Records in 1976. In the 1980s, Rhino Records issued Nuggets in a series of fifteen installments, and in 1998 as a 4-cd box set.

Meet the Beatles

If someone claims another album is more important, they're full of shite.

End of discussion.

A great great album that changed the music world forever…

But my personal fav is “Toys In The Attic”” some incredible deep tracks on this LP…

Came out in '96 and was, what I would call, the Whigs' masterpiece as it crystallized in its purest form the alt-rock/soul sound they had been toying with for years. It was also a cinematic concept album, which spoke to me even more as a film undergrad student. It didn't hurt that the album was filled with absolute bangers that still stand up today.

no question about it
I was fairly musically literate before this (mostly into the Beatles) but this, plus a tab of good acid, completely changed everything

Not even what the thread topic is about
It’s a personal choice not overall
Besides The Beatles Album overall is also a personal choice.
