I put the top 8 contenders (removed UCLA and Coastal) listed in top 11 based on RPI, SOS, quad 1 wins, Q1+Q2 wins, bad losses (q3+q4), and conference wins alone. Kind of gives a picture of exactly where each is at.

6. Oregon St (6)
7. UNC (7)

By my calculations with the information you provided, there is no argument that can be made against the Louisiana State University Fighting Tigers Baseball Team to not be a national seed

Let's win one Friday just in case.

I understand feeling that way, but it's a slippery slope. What if all the other contenders win their first game or two also. Do we have to win another?

Well one of Vandy/UGA have to lose. They would eventually play each other. For us to win we would have to beat Auburn, or Auburn already would have lost before playing us. That in itself would be huge.

Here's my fear with the committee. You get 6-Auburn 7- UGA 8- Oregon 9- LSU

Why Auburn and Georgia over LSU?

The committee: Auburn and Georgia had such a high RPI and SOS that we had to give them the nod, despite winning more SEC games.

But LSU has a higher RPI and SOS than Oregon, why them ahead of LSU?

Oregon just won so many conference games, they deserved a top 8.

We have seen them make one thing a priority for one team, while using something completely different to justify another.

I'm probably being a little pessimistic over nothing, but I would like to win at least one game just in case.

Yeah but even if that happens, the metrics those teams have that are better than us will still be better than us. One win isn't going to change that.

Go listen to the interview that D1 did with the selection committee chair (who is very familiar with LSU). He says numerous times they want the best teams in there. They know we are one of the best 8 teams.

I’ve seen enough of George and Auburn to know that neither one of them are better than LSU in BR. UGA isn’t better than them in UGA.

Who would be the other 5 teams in your scenario?

I was just playing out a situation where the committee uses one criteria for doing one thing, then ignores it to place another team. But I suppose it would be Texas, Arkansas, UNC, Vandy for sure. The 5th wouldn't really make much sense being at 5 in this scenario, but it would have to be FSU/Clemson winning the ACC tournament or Oregon St with west coast love. However, I don't think any of those teams get the 5.

unanimously ranked 1st in all polls doesn't mean a whole lot but I'm pretty sure it means we will be a top 8 seed. not sure why its even a discussion tbh .

I'm guessing 3 overall seed

The first 8 post kind of illustrate why it's a discussion.
